Dogs go through passages in life. The most dramatic change — from a training perspective — occurs when your dog transitions from puppy to adult at around 6 months of age. Prior to 6 months, your dog is a puppy with a relatively short attention span and very little experience of the world and his responsibilities. Around 6 months, he isĀ better able to sustain attention and more capable of performing complex tasks. It’s only fair — and produces much more reliable, happy results — when we ask your dog for age-appropriate levels of engagement and responsibility.
