From time to time we are able to offer trained service dogs for sale. Our dogs may be available at varying stages of their training. For local and regional clients, we often integrate very specific needs into the training process before the dogs are complete, so the final phase of training can include highly customized tasks. All of our dogs are trained with a broad foundation of solid obedience and emotional self-control to make them versatile and capable problem solvers. We may also occasionally have dogs available who are not able to become service dogs but are ready to be exceptional companions.
For the most successful working relationship, the match between dog and person must be made carefully.
Service Dog in Training
Tess is a 1 year old old pure-bred Border Collie that has been chosen and developed for service work. She has excelled in all the work included in her program thus far. She is a joyful, sensible companion with a deep sense of responsibility.
Tess is currently capable of offering the following services:
- Public access obedience
- Pick-up work
- Bracing for young children
- Meaningful companionship
We are taking inquiries about Tess while we progress into her specialized service training. She continues to impress us with her abilities, determination, and work ethic. To give Tess the opportunity to provide her future match the greatest possible service, we are advancing her training toward these goals:
- Locate and retrieve specific items
- Lightweight brace (she is only 35 lbs).
- Emergency retrieve (phone/call button)
- Light switches, opening doors
- Alert (several possibilities)
The best fit for Tess will be someone who wants a significant friendship and can offer her an active life with opportunities to run and play along with engaged, ongoing work. Tess is not dull in any sense of the word, though she is capable of sustained composure in public and private settings. She has good judgement and is ready and able to bond with her person for a life of rewarding partnership.
